To get the best out of your EQUIDRY we recommend when washing it you use Nikwax Rug, Tent or Tech wash product and follow their washing instructions below:
-
Run your washing machine on a hot cycle with nothing in it and check that the tray is clean. This gets rid of any detergent left from previous washes, which work against your garment's waterproofing.
-
Gently brush off any mud, rinse off any thick dirt by hand, or for stubborn stains apply some of the Tech Wash directly onto the garment with a sponge before washing.
-
Fasten all zips and velcro and place in the machine.
-
Shake bottle and pour the entire 300ml of the liquid into the washing machine drawer. You must use the full bottle due to the size of the coats.
-
Wash on a full cycle at 30°C/86°F or according to care label instructions.
-
We recommend spinning the coat twice to ensure all excess water is removed. You will then need to hang the coat (we recommend doing do over a shower or bath) and use a spray on reproof product ensuring the coat and all seams are fully coated.
To maintain your EQUIDRYS waterproof outer we recommend using a Spray on re proof and following the instructions on the bottle. Ensure you pay special attention to all seams and stitching.
Please note: You must reproof your EQUIDRY every time you wash it to maintain it's waterproof protection.
Zip Care
-
- Place both zip sliders at the bottom of the zip
- Insert the free zip edge in to the very bottom slider. Make sure it’s completely inserted, sitting firmly in the slider. You should feel a soft click when its in place
- Hold the bottom slider then pull up the upper slider to close the zip
- You can move the bottom slider up and down as required
-
Failure to follow these instructions could cause your zips to break. When mounting/dismounting you must:-
- Fully open your side zips
- Open the main front zip from the bottom so the bottom zipper sits above the top of the hip/on the waist.
When riding we strongly advise you check your zips to ensure there is no uneven pressure placed on any one zip and both side zips are fully open as excess pressure could cause the teeth to break.
You can rest assured knowing we test our zips in many environments and use the strongest YKK zips available ensuring your zips are of the best quality and will withstand equestrian life if they are used correctly. Although not covered under warranty, missing zip teeth can be serviced through our repairs department for a reasonable cost to you, the customer.
-
Over time your zip may become stiff due to a build up of dirt on the teeth and inside the zipper.
A pin, a clean brush or even the hoover can be use to remove mud or dust which can cause it to jam.
Your EQUIDRY may benefit from a wash to really clean the zip (please see our washing instructions on how to wash yours).
Never force the slider because you are likely to break it. Once clean we recommend using a bit of silicon spray to really free it up. -
We recommend trying all of the steps above to clean your zip before contacting us.
Should an accident happen, we can arrange a repair or replacement of broken zips on your EQUIDRY.
We will repair or replace broken zips free of charge upto a maximum of 6 months from the date of purchase if upon assessing the item we believe the zip has jammed or broken because of a quality issue that has arisen at the time of manufacture.
If a zip has broken because of broken teeth there will be a fee charged.
For all zip repair and zip replacement enquiries please do not hesitate to contact us on support@equidry.co.uk so we can arrange an assessment of your zips.
Coats must be returned to us clean and free of any mud/dirt otherwise the coat cannot be put through a sewing machine so will incur a cleaning fee of £50. We outsource all of our repairs, they are not carried out in house.
